Using Glassdoor right
Glassdoor is an amazing tool for researching about companies, titles, salaries, and much more!
Create your account
Create an account on Glassdoor.com if you donโt already have one; itโs a very helpful tool for researching companies.
Companies
Search in โCompaniesโ and look at the ratings given by the current and former employees of that company. Read the pros and cons of working at that company. You will get a good understanding of the work, technologies used, work-life balance, company culture, management policies, perks, benefits, etc.
Salaries
Search for โSalariesโ by filtering the title, location, years of experience, etc. You can get a median base salary reported by former and present employees and other info like salary range, extra compensation like stock options, cash bonus, commissions, etc. This info is very helpful for negotiating your salary with your recruiter if you get the job offer. Sometimes the recruiter brings up your salary expectations early on in the conversation. This will help you understand the current compensation rate at this company so that you wonโt lowball yourself or be too greedy about it.
Interview experiences
Search for โInterviewsโ at a company by filtering the job title. Interviewees post their direct questions here. This is a good place to start looking for your company-specific preparation before your interview.
Job openings
There are job postings on Glassdoor too, under โJobsโ -- you can check this out too. But LinkedIn job postings or career pages of the companies have more accurate information.
